Sunday is Mother’s Day, a holiday that reminds us not only of our mothers but also of the changes individuals can bring about. Mother’s Day grew out of activist Ann Jarvis’ work. Jarvis wanted to heal divisions following the Civil War. Her efforts and those of her daughter, Anna, created a international holiday. Few of us will make such an obvious impact, but each of us can make real change in the world.
